When our founder began brewing back in a few things were different, like the significantly lighter grains he used in his first IPA we agree — he sure was ahead of his time brewing IPAs back then. The lighter grains resulted in a noticeably lighter color in the beer, which allows the hop flavor to shine through.
Saranac Limited Season Best. Saranac Long John Lager. At the brewery, winter packs a bone-tingling chill. Long John Lager is a robust yet easygoing Dunkel Lager — perfect for frosty winter nights.
We capture our German brewing heritage by using Pilsner, Munich, Caramunich, and Carafa malts along with Hallertauer Mittelfrueh hops, that blend together to produce a rich garnet, copper-hue color and toasty, caramelized, nutty flavor. We use decoction mashing. Long John Lager is a perfectly blended treat for those cold winter nights ahead of us.
Saranac Octoberfest. Saranac Octoberfest is a med-bodied, copper colored lager. The beer is aged slowly in the tradition of the Octoberfest beers of Munich. Saranac Pale Ale. A beer that would make the English jealous!
This true English Pale Ale is rich and fruity, yet finishes crisp. Saranac Pomegranate Wheat. This wholesome combination of unfiltered wheat beer and real pomegranate juice makes a smooth refreshing beer with all the goodness of pomegranate.
Look for a light body with a slight tart finish and golden straw color. Saranac Prism White Ale. This complex beer will keep you guessing. The smooth, unfiltered body transitions quickly to a citrusy and fruity flavor in the finish. Saranac Pumpkin. Look for a full-body and amber color.
Saranac Shandy. For nearly years, Europeans have mixed lemonade and beer as a refreshing beverage during the summer months. We continue this tradition with Saranac Shandy-A refreshing blend of lemonade and lager. Kick back, relax and enjoy! We make an actual lemonade with REAL lemon juice, sugar and water and mix it with a traditional light lager to achieve a nice lemon aroma and taste. Saranac Summer Ale. Look for subtle hints of lemon.
Saranac Tramonay Rouge. This is a spin on a classic Saison, brewed with yeast from Belgium, 2-row North American barley, and Herman Hallertaue Mittlefruh hops.
The beer is brewed in a traditional manor, except for the addition of NY sourced grape juice in fermentation, from Corot Noir grapes. The grape juice is known for its deep red color and an attractive beery and cherry fruit aroma.
It adds a distinct fruity nose and hints of pink color. Saranac White IPA. Cheers to twisting tradition! Saranac 12 Beers a Falling. Pumpkin Ale: A hearty ale brewed with pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice and ginger with a full body and amber color.
This beer brings the fall season to life! Octoberfest: A medium bodied copper colored lager. Its rich, malty taste is subtly balanced by Saphir and Perle hops. The beer is aged slowly in the Munich tradition. Dark-tober fest : With Munich malts providing its deep reddish-copper color and bigger, richer character, this is an Octoberfest that truly embraces its dark side.
Autumn Pils: Sterling hops? Saaz hops? Clean, crisp, pilsener taste? This fusion of new- and old-world hop character yields a Czech-style pilsner with a citrusy earthy character and a crisp snappy finish.
