Cassius is the husband of Brutus' sister. So, he is his brother-in-law. Brutus and Portia seem distant. In part, Brutus's Stoic philosophy means that he does not express emotion, so the relationship is unlikely to be passionate, at least on the surface.
And Brutus is a Roman, and the Romans were not exactly uxorious. So it is not surprising that Portia is kept out of Brutus's counsels, and is not allowed to know what he is up to. Which is hardly fair, seeing as how she pays for his actions with her life. Brutus is angry with Cassius because he is the one who suggests betraying and killing Caesar. Although Brutus goes along with it, he lays the blame on Cassius for convincing him.
Cassius says that brutus is going soft and not hard abd that brutus cannot fight the battle of Waterloo and so Marcus antonitte will win the battle of Waterloo.
Cassius was mad. It is an insult to Cassius for Brutus to condemn Lucius Pella. Cassius had vouched for Pella in letters to Brutus, which Brutus ignored. So in a way Brutus is devaluing Cassius word or honor.
Honor was pretty huge for men in Rome. Lucillius is a soldier in Brutus' army who greatly admires Brutus. During battle, he is captured by Octavius' and Antony's soldiers when Brutus' side loses. Lucillius offers money to them to kill him, claiming that he is Brutus so that they will stop looking for him Brutus. However, this does not work as Antony comes and sees that he is not Brutus.
Antony says Lucillius is a friend and welcomes him into his own army. Yes Brutus killed Caesar. He did so because he believed that Julius Caesar was corrupt and had corrupted the Republic. Brutus was of Rome and loved Rome so much kill him in order to save Rome from dictatorship. Brutus and Caesar were good friends, or so Caesar thought.

He gives him the letters he has forged to put on Brutus's seat in the Senate, through his windows, and on his statutes, so that Brutus will read them and think the people support him.
Cassius wants Brutus to go against Caesar, so he writes letters to make Brutus believe that the people are against Caesar. Brutus was a stoic, so he had trained himself not to be emotional about things. This makes him appear particularly uncaring when he hears of the death of Portia. Brutus later betrayed him to Pompey but Caesar spared his life after the battle.

While it may be fit for others to speak of how honest another person is, it is somewhat immodest of a man to trumpet his own honesty. Brutus says that he was too honest to get money to pay his soldiers by dishonest means; he went to Cassius, but Cassius denied him the funds. Since Brutus knew Cassius got his money dishonestly, how could he ask him for it?
It would appear that Brutus is not practical enough to do what must be done to pay his soldiers but is realistic enough to ask Cassius for his ill-gotten money. He sounds as if he is feeling sorry for himself because Brutus is treating him in a very unfriendly way. Portia has killed herself. Cassius wants the enemy to come to them.
That way, the enemy soldiers will be tired while their soldiers will be fresh. Brutus wants to go to the enemy to prevent them from picking up more soldiers along the way. What does he mean? Cassius reaffirms their friendship and leaves. Brutus sits down to read while Lucius plays soothing music. Brutus sees the ghost of Caesar and the ghost says it will see Brutus again on the field at Philippi, where the battle is to take place.
Why do you suppose he does this? Octavius says that he will take the right side. It would appear that Octavius is showing that he is the boss, not Antony. What does Cassius remark about Antony?
