Can i transfer to lse

Regardless of the point in the academic year that your programme transfer is processed, the change in tuition fees will be backdated to the start of the academic year. Please note that the European Institute does not accept programme transfer requests into or out of the department.

Contact the academic responsible for the programme you wish to transfer to establish if they would be willing to consider your request to transfer. If the academic is willing to consider your application, complete and submit the Programme Transfer form , providing a detailed explanation of why you wish to change programme.

Once you have submitted your request form, it will automatically be sent to the appropriate academic staff for review. They will receive an email to confirm your submission, so you do not need to tell them yourself. You will be transferred at the most appropriate point in the academic cycle. We aim to process requests in five working days but it will take longer at the beginning of the academic year. You will receive an email notification that your request to transfer has been approved.

Until your request has been processed, you will remain registered on your current programme and will be expected to comply with all its requirements, including attendance at all classes and attempting all assessments. Once a transfer is approved, for details about changing courses, please visit the Course Selection pages.

If you currently hold a Tier 4 visa, permission to transfer into to a new programme will also be dependent on meeting the UK Government's immigration laws. It may also have an impact on the length or conditions of your visa, your ability to extend your visa in the UK and the time you have remaining for further study under the time limitations of your Tier 4 leave. If you are considering a transfer to a new programme, you must seek immigration advice to see if you are affected.

LSE is renowned for its international student body. There are over languages spoken on campus and students come from over countries.

As a student studying on a University of London programme with academic direction from LSE, you will be able to take advantage of further opportunities to learn with LSE, both on campus and online. London is one of the most exciting and culturally-diverse cities in the world.

Being a part of LSE Summer School will give you the opportunity to study and live centrally in one of the most global cities in the world. Our extensive range of academic courses is complemented by a professional skills programme designed to develop your career planning, and an organised social programme that gives you a chance to see some of the sights of London and interact with peers from around the globe.

Students who have completed at least four full courses on their University of London EMFSS degree programme are also able to apply for admission to the LSE General Course, which allows students from across the world to spend a full academic year at LSE and claim credit for the successful completion of relevant courses.

Before applying you should pay close attention to the start date of your EMFSS programme and the dates at which you will receive your course results, and how this aligns with the LSE General Course start date or year of entry.

Please bear in mind that transfer is not automatic and admission is highly competitive, as a limited number of places are available for both first and second year entries. Your courses should match the content of the first year of the LSE internal degree you wish to transfer to, as closely as possible. You should also pay close attention to the start date of your programme and the dates at which you will receive your course results, and how this aligns with the application deadline and start date of the LSE programme you wish to transfer to.
