I like the ad for antiperspirant that claims to moisturise your armpits. So… it simultaneously makes you drier AND wetter? I thought we banned sexism in adverts back in when we got rid of ridiculous statements about women being in the kitchen all the time but apparently not.
But nobody seems to mind the sexism towards men when we are constantly portrayed as stupid, lazy, football loving, lager swilling idiots. I saw that advert too. Assuming that they are able to prove the claim in some way.
By the way moisturisers work by using oils not water based substances. Some anti-perspirants also contain alcohol, which helps them dry faster and creates that pleasant, cool feeling on your skin. And some will have added skin conditioners, to keep your underarms feeling soft. These effectively do two jobs in one. They stop sweat and also contain a fragrance, to help mask body odour. There are four main types: aerosol, roll-on, stick, and cream soft solid.
So, what are the advantages of each? Roll-ons — give good wetness protection and are quick and easy to apply. Sticks — come in a solid block with a big surface area; perfect if you sweat a lot. Cream soft solids — give you added protection right where you need it.
It's now available in the entire Sure range, so is more than worth a try to see if you can get some freshness throughout the day. In stores now. Home comforts. Streets of Roma. Winter in Minneapolis.
