Although these were skilled voice actors, it was important to keep things in the family for Ozzie and Harriet, however, so when David was 12 and Ricky was eight they began performing alongside their parents.
It was thanks to Bing Crosby, interestingly enough, that Ozzie was convinced his boys were ready to join their parents. He encouraged Ozzie to give them their break when he guest starred on their show. The film also cast Rock Hudson and Barbara Lawrence. With the success of this film, Ozzie was able to score an incredibly good deal with ABC.
